“Rosemary’s Baby”

Shopping for an apartment in New York City, blissful couple ROSEMARY and GUY WOODHOUSE find the perfect place in a storied old building called the Brandford. Rosemary is ecstatic, Guy is less so, fronting his usual wry sarcasm, but agrees to take it.

Over dinner, their old friend HUTCH tells Guy and Rosemary that the Brandford building has a sordid history involving witchcraft, but Guy changes the subject and they ignore it as an interesting bit of historical trivia. Rosemary and Guy move in. They redecorate the gloomy apartment in bright colors, joyous to be taking this next step toward a stable domestic life.

Rosemary and Guy cuddle, enjoying their new home. They’re interrupted by muffled voices emanating through the walls from another apartment… eerie chanting.

Rosemary and Guy are shocked to discover that Terry has committed suicide. At the scene of the tragedy, they meet Minnie and Roman, who do seem wonderfully kind, albeit eccentric. Later, Minnie visits Rosemary, invites her and Guy to dinner. She shows unusual interest in Rosemary’s affairs, bordering on rudeness. Rosemary announces their plans to have a baby, piquing Minnie's interest despite her obvious effort to act nonchalant...
